About Tim
Background
Tim was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved to Oakland Park in January 2000. He and his husband Floyd reside in the Coral Heights neighborhood. In May 2025 Tim retired from his job at a National Health Insurance Company after 39 years. When possible, Tim enjoys spending time gardening in the yard which is a National Wildlife Federation - Certified Wildlife Habitat, volunteering and stays active by riding his bike and walking.

Public Service
• Proudly served on the Oakland Park City Commission 3/2013 thru 11/2020 and 11/2022 thru 11/2026. Tim served as Mayor and Community Redevelopment Agency (C.R.A.) Chairman in 2016, 2018 and 2025.
• Currently serving as Oakland Park’s representative on the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (M.P.O.)
• Currently serving on the National League of Cities -Transportation and Infrastructure Services (TIS) Federal Advocacy Committee
• Served as Board Member of the National League of Cities – Race, Equality and Leadership Council (R.E.A.L.) and the L.G.B.T.L.O. (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender Local Officials) Constituency Group.
• Served on Oakland Park General Employee Pension Plan - Board of Trustees
• Served as Oakland Park’s representative on the Broward County Water Advisory Board, the Broward County Climate Change Task Force and the Broward County Resource Recovery Board. • Served on the Board of Directors of the Broward League of Cities, President of League in 2018.
Oakland Park Accomplishments
• Focused on reducing taxes - Millage Rate reduction 11 out of 12 years
• Public Safety and Security improvements. Increased patrols and Improved ordinances and equipment
• City wide Beautification and Quality of Life initiatives. Expanded green space.
• While Mayor - $40M bond approved by voters to rebuild our public facilities including the library and fire stations.
• While Mayor - Established Climate Action Plan with City of Wilton Manors.
• Advocated for the new 24 classroom building at Northeast High School. Accomplished!
• Advocated for new building for Rickard’s Middle School after roof collapse. Accomplished!
• Supported Business growth and expansions

• Acknowledged by the Florida League of Cities as ‘Home Rule Hero’ in 2016 and 2018.
• Supported an ordinance making Conversion Therapy illegal in Oakland Park.
• Supported Gender Reassignment Surgery coverage and Domestic Partnership Benefits for Oakland Park employees.
• Supported ordinance requiring contractors/vendors to provide Domestic Partner Health Benefits to employees.
• Human Rights Campaign (HRC) 100% Equality Index rating.
• Supported Plastic Straw ban.
• Supported Residential Housing Developments including: Oakland Preserve Workforce Housing, Oak Tree, East Side Village, The Point at Middle River, Oaklyn and Parklyn, Blys, ID Oakland Park townhomes.
• Supported The Shops at Prospect and Andrews parking lot enhancements and business beautification grants.
• Met with Broward County Public Schools to advocate for 100-year lease for Oakland Park Nature Trail in the Royal Palm neighborhood.
• Support Oakland Park businesses.
• Supported Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center - $52M investment in defunct Northridge Medical Center
• Increased Short Term Vacation Rental regulations.
